Changing the App Language

Vast Product Image Exporter's interface is available in 35 languages. The app picks one for you automatically, and you can change it at any time with a couple of clicks.

How the app picks a language

The first time you open the app, it looks at the language your Shopify admin is set to. If that language is one of the 35 the app supports, the interface appears in it straight away. If not, the app uses English.

Once someone on your team picks a language with the language button (see below), that choice is saved for your store and used from then on.

Changing the language

  1. Look for the floating language button in the top right corner of the app. It shows a flag and the name of the current language, for example English, and it appears on every page of the app.
  2. Click it to open the list of languages. Each language is shown in its own name, so Spanish appears as Español and Japanese as 日本語.
  3. To find one quickly, type in the Language search box at the top of the list. You can search by the language's name or its two letter code, for example de for Deutsch.
  4. Click the language you want.

The change applies instantly. There is no save button and nothing to reload.

The language choice is saved for the store, not for your browser or your Shopify staff account. Everyone who opens the app for that store sees the same language. If a colleague switches it, you will see their choice the next time you open the app.

What stays in English

Menus, buttons, filters, the Setup guide, and the messages the dashboard shows all follow your chosen language. Two things are still in English only:

  • The export completion email. The email with your download link is always sent in English.
  • The activity log on the export detail page. The step by step entries are written in English, and so is the failure reason shown on an export's card in Export History, because it comes from the same log.

If the saved language does not load

If the app cannot load your store's saved preference, for example because of a brief connection problem, it falls back to your Shopify admin language, or to English if that language is not supported. Your saved choice is not lost; it is picked up again the next time the app opens normally. You can also simply select the language again from the button.

Missing your language?

If the language you need is not in the list, let us know through the in-app support center and tell us which one you would like to see added.
